Academic Enrichment and Extra-Curricular Activities

A variety of rich experiences and opportunities for students remain a priority even during these very restrictive budget times. Visual and Performing Arts is an integral component of our educational program for 2009-2010.

Music is offered K-8 with community performances scheduled throughout the school year. New this year will be the opportunity for volunteer participation in a school choir as well as the classroom music offered weekly to all students.

Art is taught throughout the school using Arts Attack. Arts Attack is an award-winning video/DVD-based art curriculum that addresses the needs of the art specialist, classroom teacher, or parent volunteer. Using video/DVD-based teaching methods, Arts Attack provides the art specialist or classroom teacher guidance by teaching art elements and principles in a developmental and sequential way. Bend students participate annually in the countywide Arts Celebration and display beautiful art for the enjoyment of the Tehama County community at the Tehama County Department of Education during the month of the celebration.

Students at Bend participate in Volleyball and Basketball through the Tehama County Small Schools sports program. With a focus on skill building, teamwork and sportsmanship our programs are fun and rewarding and successful at preparing students for the next level of competition. Supported by parents, volunteers and staff working together we are proud to provide quality athletic experiences.
